WEBProbably yes. I've already reserved mine, and the possibility of playing portable on a console I currently use made up for my decision for this version. I mean if you have a Switch, want to play it handheld (like myself) then get it on the Switch, if you want 60fps on MGS2/3 then you need to go elsewhere.

WEBNov 7, 2023 · As you know, the MGS collection has been released on Switch. MGS2 and 3 were good since they were based on HD collections. But MGS1 is based on the PSX version, so I am not quite sure that it would be worth playing with Switch. I guess this would be better to play with a PSX emulator since they provide a bunch of enhancement options.

WEBIt's not bad on the Switch; however, MGS3 was hard to play, especially in handheld mode. The low framerate mixed with the terrible joy con joysticks makes hitting precision shots with the Mk22 very hard. This could have been rectified if Konami had included gyro controls for first-person aiming.

WEBI've played Metal gear solid 5: the phantom pain and Ive wanted to try out the other games so I've seen the master collection on steam but the reviews are mostly negative so I thought I'd ask the people of reddit for their thoughts. Been playing it WAAAAY more than I should be since launch on the Switch and it's been fantastic.

WEBOct 23, 2023 · Konami didn’t do MGS2 justice on the Switch. The animations look so stiff in 30fps. And they even forgot to take out the weird temporary framerate jump to 60fps when entering lockers. 60FPS Patch soon hopefully, well noticed. Why are people downvoting you, I swear Reddit is weird.

Modders also don't have to answer to the demands of the publisher, for all we know (liked I said in another post) Konami might have told them to go with the 30fps on Switch to save battery on switch or just some dev/testing time.

WEBMGS3 is more disappointing than positive on the switch and other consoles, however it does have a couple of nice aspects at least. I'll start of with the bad -. The texture filtering/quality is atrocious - I'm pretty sure even worse than it was on PS2. I think the biggest reason for this is very low AF or simply no AF.
