The Atlanta Police Department said an active shooter near Emory University is dead and one officer was killed in the incident.

Authorities say both a suspected active shooter and a police officer were killed in a gunfight outside an Emory Point CVS, near the CDC and Emory University campus, on Friday afternoon.

Emory University reported an active shooter on its Atlanta, Georgia, campus on Friday. The school's official website said the incident was occurring near the Emory Point CVS. A shelter-in-place order has been put in place. "RUN. HIDE. FIGHT. Avoid the area," the university said.
