Eloy Jimenez, thought to be a foundational piece of the Chicago White Sox just a few years ago, is headed to the open market after having his team option declined by the Baltimore Orioles The White Sox had traded him to Baltimore at the trade deadline.

A day after introducing their new manager in Will Venable, the Sox announced they are declining the club option the player once billed as the centerpiece of the Chris Sale trade.

The White Sox declined a $25 million option on third baseman Yoán Moncada and a $7.5 million option on catcher Max Stassi.
