General Hospital' actor Chris Robinson wasn't a doctor, but he played one on TV — and introduced that classic saying to American culture. He has died at 86.

Robinson, whose career spanned more than 60 years, famously told viewers in a cough syrup commercial, "I'm not a doctor, but I play one on TV."

The star was so renown for portraying doctors onscreen, his "I'm not a doctor, but I play one on TV" line in a commercial became a national catchphrase.
