Despite a global push for pure electric vehicles, Hyundai is one of the few automakers that is fully committed to hydrogen as a source of fuel for both future passenger cars, as well as an array of commercial vehicles, including buses, trucks and even construction equipment.

Hyundai Motor Company revealed the INITIUM hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) concept at its “Clearly Committed” event in Goyang, South Korea. This debut represents Hyundai’s next leap toward a hydrogen-powered future, showcasing decades of development and commitment to a zero-emission world.

Hyundai Motor Co. unveiled a new hydrogen-powered vehicle called Initium, which it aims to release in the first half of next year as part of its broader push into the clean-burning gas.

This retro-futuristic styled Initium targets 400-plus miles of range per refuel and is a ‘preview’ of Hyundai’s upcoming production fuel cell-powered SUV.
