The Federal Trade Commission said Wednesday it is ready to litigate its case against Amazon for alleged deceptive practices, despite an earlier request in the day for more time.

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission said on Wednesday it does not need to delay a September trial against Amazon, reversing an attorney's statement earlier in the day that resource shortfalls due to cost-cutting required an extension.

The US Federal Trade Commission asked a federal court in Seattle on Wednesday to delay a September trial in its case alleging Amazon misled consumers over its Prime subscription service, citing “severe resource shortfalls in terms of both money and personnel.
