In a significant development, India and China have reached an agreement on the patrolling arrangements along Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. The agreement was reached ahead of the BRICS Summit which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

China confirmed on Tuesday it had reached a deal with India over their disputed frontier, without elaborating on whether the pact covered the length of the border or just points where the two sides have been involved in a standoff since 2020.
