An Air India plane with more than 200 people on board crashed near the airport in India's city of Ahmedabad, the airline and police officials said.
A London-bound passenger plane crashed shortly after takeoff in India on Thursday, June 12. More than 240 people were on board, Air India confirmed in a post on X.
Plane was carrying 242 passengers and crew, with people on the ground also feared dead after it hit residential area - police chief tells BBC 204 bodies recovered so far.
The plane, which was headed to London Gatwick, crashed shortly after taking off. More than 200 bodies have been recovered.
