Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said President Donald Trump is putting the safety of the Los Angeles community and law enforcement first.

Trump ordered the deployment after immigration authorities driving in L.A. were hit with rocks, stones, and concrete, causing damage to government vehicles.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat said in a post on X that the move from the Republican president was “purposefully inflammatory and will only escalate tensions.”
