Marietta police are reaching out for information and tips on a shooting at a car wash the night before New Year’s Eve, that left a man dead.

Officers found Daniel Lanard Richardson Jr. lying in the middle of a Marietta car wash bay on Monday. Now they're hoping someone can help them figure out who killed him.

Marietta Police are investigating the fatal shooting of 59-year-old Daniel Richardson Jr. at a local car wash.

MARIETTA, Ga. — A man was found shot to death in the middle of a car wash bay in Marietta on Monday, according to the police department. Marietta Police said shortly after 8 p.m., Cobb County 911 dispatch notified them that a man was found lying on the ground at the car wash at 1250 Bellemeade Drive.

Marietta police are looking for the public’s help in solving a murder this week outside a carwash. It was the night before New Year’s Eve when officers found a 59-year-old Daniel Richardson, Jr. dead on Bellemeade Drive near Powder Springs Road. Officer Chuck McPhilamy said Richardson’s body was in the middle of a bay at a car wash.

Investigators later learned that the man had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the car wash. The man has since been identified as 59-year-old Daniel Lanard Richardson Jr. of Marietta. Police haven’t released details on possible suspects or motives. They are asking for help identifying the person or people responsible.
