Michigan basketball is set to embark upon a new era with Dusty May at the helm and a bevy of transfers with hopes that it can win right away. And in a new-look Big Ten, that also means some new teams on the schedule.

The Wolverines finished last in the Big Ten last season with a 3-17 league record. They were 8-24 overall. The Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook projects Michigan to finish ninth in the conference this season, though overhauled rosters at so many programs makes prognostication all the more difficult.

Among other notable matchups, the Michigan men will play reigning Big Ten regular-season champion Purdue, which returns three starters from last year’s national runner-up team, at Mackey Arena on Friday, Jan. 24 and at Crisler Center on Tuesday, Feb. 11. The Michigan State men will face Purdue once — at home on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
