The Detroit Lions' front office and scouting department lost a key figure. On Friday, reports surfaced that Notre Dame is set to hire the Lions' Director of Scouting Advancement Mike Martin as its new general manager.

Mike Martin, who reportedly will be Notre Dame’s new football GM, spent two decades in the NFL, including helping build the current Detroit Lions roster.

The Lions are dealing with another departure. Their director of scouting advancement is heading to South Bend to be Notre Dame's general manager.
