The celebrations at Times Square in New York City will kick off in less than a week, with star-studded performances and an exciting countdown.

Organizers of the Times Square New Year's Eve celebration screwed the last crystals onto the ball that will usher in 2025.

The last of the crystal triangles that make up this year’s Times Square New Year’s Eve ball have been installed, marking the first time in 10 years that all 2,688 were replaced at once. Rapper Pitbull and inventor Joy Mangano were on hand on Friday to help the co-organizers of the 2025 New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square atop One Times Square to install the last few crystals.

Dec. 27 (UPI) -- The New Year's Eve ball has officially been unveiled ahead of its big drop on New Year's Eve. Pitbull was among those to adorn the ball with special additions Friday. The ball, which weighs 11,875 pounds, is covered with 2,688 "crystal triangles" and contains 32,256 LED lights.

Just in time for 2025, the iconic Times Square New Year’s Eve ball was unveiled Friday. “To all of NYC, I always say, why dream when you can live it,” said Grammy-winner Pitbull, who was there helping to place the final crystal in the ball.
