The estate of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen has begun the process of selling the Portland Trail Blazers, fulfilling his directive to direct proceeds to philanthropy. The Seattle Seahawks and Sounders are not part of the sale.

After Paul Allen's passing in 2018, one of his final wishes was to have his possessions - including the Seahawks and Blazers - to be sold off.

The Portland Trail Blazers are for sale. The estate of former owner Paul Allen announced Tuesday that it has begun a process to sell the franchise that is expected to bleed into the 2025-26 season. It has hired investment bank Allen & Co.
