Thousands peacefully gathered Saturday to protest the Trump administration as part of a nationwide 'No Kings' protest in nearly 2,000 locations.

Tens of thousands of Portlanders marched across the Willamette River this afternoon in a show of numbers aimed at opposing President Donald Trump’s deportation campaign and mocking his birthday celebration.

The demonstrations follow more than a week of large-scale protests in Los Angeles against Mr. Trump’s immigration crackdown and his decision to deploy the military there. Protesters gathered in Liberty Plaza outside of the Georgia State Capitol in Downtown Atlanta.
Despite peaceful demonstrations reported in multiple cities, violence flared at some anti-Trump protests over the weekend.

Around 2,000 protests were planned on Saturday in opposition to President Donald Trump. Large crowds turned out in cities like Portland, Denver, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles – and in smaller communities in traditionally conservative areas.
With protests over immigration enforcement raids, as well as planned demonstrations against President Trump over the weekend happening locally and nationwide, Portland city and county leaders addressed the community Friday morning.
