A suspect was arrested Wednesday in connection with a deadly shooting at a parking garage near a children's museum last week, police said.

Solomon Elijah Campbell, 20, is accused of shooting Damien Devon Smith, 45, at the parking deck at 117 S. Wilmington St. about 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 4, police said. Smith was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries.

A man has serious injuries from being shot in Raleigh on New Year's Day. The shooting occurred in the 1600 block of Poole Road around 6: 15 a.m. Police found a man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital with injuries that were considered serious.

The shooting happened Saturday around 3:30 p.m. in the parking deck at 117 S. Wilmington Street. President Biden stood next to Gov. Gavin Newsom and pledged full federal support as fires burned through Los Angeles County.
