RUIDOSO, N.M. (AP) — The loss of three lives to flash flooding in the mountain village of Ruidoso is “unfathomable and unfair,” New Mexico’s governor said Thursday, as surveys revealed more extensive damage to homes than initially thought.
A flash flood in Ruidoso, New Mexico, swept through an RV park, causing fatalities and widespread damage. Three people staying at the RV park were killed or went missing in the flood. The floodwaters crested at a historic 20 feet, exceeding previous records.
