On Feb. 16, 2025, Korean actress Kim Sae Ron was found dead at home. The death of the 24-year-old, who had risen to popularity as a child actress, was later ruled a suicide. Reports soon began to emerge that Sae Ron had owed 700 million won (S$652,000) to her former agency, Gold Medalist, at the time of her death.

Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron were in a relationship. However, the former actor’s agency denied alleged involvement in Kim Sae Ron’s financial struggle and death.

According to Goldmedalist – an agency established by Kim Soo-hyun and his cousin – the actors dated from the summer of 2019, after she became an adult, to the autumn of 2020. Kim Sae-ron was born in July 2000, while Kim Soo-hyun was born in February 1988.

Kim Soo Hyun has been dropped by luxury brand Prada as an ambassador amid ongoing Kim Sae-ron controversy.On Friday, March 14, Prada issued press release to officially announce that Soo Hyun’s contract has been terminated.
