HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad police on Wednesday issued a warning against social media accounts posting false or misleading videos and photos contradicting official statements about the Sandhya Theatre stampede.

A day after Hyderabad Police summoned Telugu actor Allu Arjun for interrogation in connection with the stampede death at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, videos began doing rounds on social media falsely claiming that the stampede occurred before the actor arrived at the theatre.

Police cited Anthony an accused in the case as the bouncer was along with the actor and his family during their visit to the Sandhya Theatre on December 4.

Allu Arjun has been questioned by the Hyderabad Police in connection with the Sandhya Theatre stampede incident, with the possibility of a scene reconstruction at the venue to assist in the investigation.

A 35-year-old woman died during the stampede at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4 and her eight-year-old son was hospitalised.

The police, in a post on 'X,' clarified that some individuals had shared videos falsely claiming the stampede occurred before Allu Arjun arrived at the theatre.

Pushpa 2 stampede case: "Legal action will be taken against those who spread misinformation, especially while the case is still under investigation," said Hyderabad Police.

Allu Arjun has been in the eye of the storm since the stampede broke out at Sandhya Theatre earlier this month. A woman died in the stampede.

Police asked the actor about his awareness of the denied permission for the visit and details about his private security arrangements. They alleged that his bouncers pushed fans leading to the stampede.
