Karachi/Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday visited Balochistan, where he reviewed the law and order situation and expressed solidarity with the people following the Jaffar Express hijacking incident in which 21 civilians and four soldiers were killed.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the media following a train attack in Balochistan on Tuesday. Insurgents targeted the Jaffar Express, which was carrying 440 passengers, using explosives to derail the train.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said Pakistan cannot progress without eliminating terrorism from Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He condemned the attack and warned against anti-army propaganda.

"I offer my heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs. May Allah grant them the highest ranks in Jannah and bless those injured with a swift recovery."

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived on Thursday in Quetta on a day-long visit after a terrorist attack involving the hijacking of an express train in Balochistan province. He was received by Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, as per Radio Pakistan.

The train was going from Quetta to Peshawar when Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) militants derailed it using explosives and hijacked it near the mountainous terrain of Gudalar and Piru Kunri in a tunnel 160 kilometres from Quetta.
