KFC, the fast-food restaurant chain formerly known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, is moving its corporate headquarters in the US from Louisville in Kentucky to Plano in Texas, according to a statement from its parent company,

KFC's ties to the US state of Kentucky run almost a century deep, when at a service station in Corbin, Colonel Harland Sanders began feeding customers.

The popular fast-food chicken franchise, once known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, announced Tuesday it’s abandoning its namesake state and moving its corporate headquarters to Plano, Texas, according to the Louisville Courier Journal.
