Afton skier Jessie Diggins, back at the scene of a previous triumph, won the first event of the Tour de Ski on Saturday in Toblach, Italy. Diggins, wearing the yellow bib that designates the overall leader in the World Cup standings,

Slind worked in tandem with fellow Norwegian Therese Johaug at the front as the pair moved to the top of the overall standings. Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo increased his lead in the men’s classification despite finishing third on the day.

Title holder Harald Østberg Amundsen won the third stage of cross country's Tour de Ski on Tuesday in Italy and moved within striking distance of fellow Norwegian overall leader Johannes Høsflot Klæbo.

Slind finished strongly to pip fellow Norwegian Therese Johaug in the 20km freestyle interval start with Diggins back in sixth. Reigning men's champion Harald Oestberg Amundsen won the stage to close the gap on Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo.

Title holder Harald Østberg Amundsen won the men's race while fellow Norwegian Astrid Øyre Slind was a surprise women's winner in stage three of cross country's Tour de Ski on Tuesday in Italy. Norway's Johannes Høsflot Klæbo and American Jessica Diggins retained slender overall leads even though they each failed to keep their 100% record going in 20-kilometres freestyle interval start races in Toblach.

Title holder Jessica Diggins prevailed in a sprint finish to make it two wins from the opening two stages of cross-country's Tour de Ski on Sunday in Italy. American Diggins won the opening sprint the previous day and then somewhat surprisingly also prevailed in Toblach in a 15-kilometres mass start in classic style.
