On Thursday at 2:29 p.m. a winter storm warning was released by the NWS Blacksburg VA valid from Friday 1 p.m. until Sunday 1 p.m. The warning is for Ashe, Alleghany and Watauga counties.
The winter storm is brewing along the United States' Southeast coast. The storm is expected to inundate North Carolina with "heavy" snow, according to the National Weather Service prediction center. The storm also would impact the Mid-Atlantic and New England if it stays on that track.
