The third consecutive night of US strikes on Iran came as Trump announced a 20% charge as part of a new blockade on the Strait of Hormuz.

NATO Chief Mark Rutte called the U.S. attacks on Iran "absolutely necessary" on Wednesday after the U.S. launched fresh attacks on Iran and revoked Iran's oil sanctions waiver.

Trump made the comments on his Truth Social after U.S. officials demanded that Iran make a public statement saying the Strait of Hormuz is open.

Iran criticised Trump's remarks that the US would guard the Strait of Hormuz, with an Iranian official asking him to "guard Graham's grave".

The U.S. and Iran are fighting for control of the Strait of Hormuz, threatening a return to all-out war after agreeing to a ceasefire last month.
