A major internet outage hit on October 20. Snapchat and many other popular apps like Roblox and Canva stopped working. Users could not log in or load messages. The disruption was caused by problems at Amazon Web Services.
The outage affected websites like Coinbase and Fortnite, and disrupted services like Signal, Zoom, and Amazon's own products, including Ring.
As reported by numerous sources, apps like Snapchat, Duolingo, and Alexa are affected, but so are a massive range of websites, with banking websites, Zoom, and even Amazon's Ring cameras experiencing problems.
