Of course the replication summary report does more than just list your domain controllers. It also lists the largest replication deltas.

The writable domain controller recognizes that the request is coming from an RODC and consults the Password Replication Policy that’s in effect for that RODC.

Parent domain gets all 3 templates, child only gets 1. The odd thing is that "Domain Controller" template is superceded by Directory Email Replication and Domain Controller Authentication templates!
