At 9:33 p.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service issued an updated winter storm warning valid from Friday 8 a.m. until Sunday 11 p.m. for North Oregon Cascades.

Winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories are in effect across 23 states as a major storm system threatens to bring heavy snow, creating hazardous travel conditions and the risk of widespread power outages.
