Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says a deal to end the war between Ukraine and Russia “is still very, very far away."

The outgoing Canadian leader has maintained strong support for Ukraine since Russia's 2022 invasion, but the relationship his successor will have with the country remains to be seen.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he received a letter from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in which the Ukrainian leader expressed willingness to come to the negotiating table over the Russia-Ukraine war.

The US president read out a letter he said he'd received from his Ukrainian counterpart, in which he agreed to "come to the negotiating table".

President Donald Trump claimed during his speech to Congress that Volodymyr Zelenskyy sent him a letter Tuesday indicating he would come back to the negotiating table.
