One DeKalb County officer was fatally shot when a man opened fire Friday afternoon. The suspect, who a neighbor said had expressed anti-vaccine sentiments, was also shot and died from his injuries.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has identified Patrick Joseph White as the active shooter in an incident near Emory University and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A DeKalb Police Officer died in the shooting.
