Florida State Seminoles basketball alum Luke Loucks has been hired as the new FSU head coach, replacing Leonard Hamilton.

Loucks will be stepping into Hamilton's shoes after playing a key role as a player in FSU's first ACC Championship run in 2012.

Florida State has hired Sacramento Kings assistant coach and FSU alumnus Luke Loucks as its next men’s basketball coach, the program announced. The Athletic confirmed Friday that FSU was targeting Loucks to replace Leonard Hamilton, one of the winningest coaches in ACC history. On Sunday, the move became official.

Luke Loucks is returning to Florida State. Loucks, 34, was officially named the new head men’s basketball coach at the ACC school and has agreed to a five-year deal, according to reports. Loucks played for the Seminoles from 2008-12 and most recently served as an assistant coach with the Sacramento Kings since 2022.
