Church Brothers Farms issued a voluntary recall of 1,271 cases of green onions sold in a limited number of U.S. and Canada retailers.

Some green onions sold at Trader Joe’s stores across the country and here in Georgia are being recalled because they may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The contaminated green onions were sold at Trader Joe’s in Washington, D.C. and the following 28 states: No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this recall. The recalled green onions have a “pack date” of Sept. 25, that is listed on the packaging.

Green onions by Church Brothers are being recalled in 11 U.S. states and Canada after salmonella was found in a product sample.

If you have any of these products, throw them out and sanitize your refrigerator. You can also take them back for a refund.

Common symptoms of Salmonella infection can include fever, stomach cramps and diarrhea, and they often can last up to 7 days. Salmonella is not typically life-threatening, but individuals who are immunocompromised can experience more severe cases that may lead to hospitalization.
