Boston meteorologists say this week's weather could include the first 90-degree day of the year, thinning wildfire smoke, and some rain.
An air quality alert has been issued for the Boston area and other parts of Massachusetts today. And while the region has seen smoke from Canadian wildfires and fires burning in the U.S., that's not what's driving Thursday's warning.
"First 90-degree temperature of the season is on the way today. We have not been there in Boston, officially, since Aug. 28, 2024, so it's been a while," StormTeam 5 chief meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon said.
