Prince William and Kate Middleton issued an emotional message while marking the 80th anniversary of VJ Day, aka Victory Over Japan Day. On Friday, Aug. 15, the Prince and Princess of Wales took to X with a post remembering the official end of World War II in Japan.

Princess Kate and Prince William are currently on a summer break from their official duties as senior members of the Royal Family. As a result, the Prince and Princess of Wales didn't attend the ceremony in honor of the 80th anniversary of VJ Day alongside Queen Camilla—who was seen crying—and King Charles.

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a heartfelt tribute on their social media, joining other British royal family members in a day of remembrance.
