TxDOT to Pretreat Abilene Highways Wednesday
With the chance for us to see the first real dose of winter in 2026, preparations are already underway to keep area roadways safe. The Texas Department of Transportation Abilene Region will begin pretreating what it calls Tier 1 and Tier 2 roadways.
Starting Thursday, Tulsa County Highway District crews will prepare for the potential winter weather this weekend by installing plows and sanders on trucks and pre-treating bridges and known trouble spots.
