After the JT Miller trade and Quinn Hughes’ injury, Elias Pettersson becomes the only skater representing the Vancouver Canucks at the 4 Nations Face-off – goaltender Kevin Lankinen is also playing for Team Finland.
The 4 Nations Face-Off starts Wednesday, February 12, when Canada takes on Sweden. The game will feature two members of Vancouver's team as Pettersson will take on Tocchet, who is an assistant coach for Team Canada. Puck drop is scheduled for 5 pm PT and can viewed on Sportsnet.
If you were one of the many Canucks fans hoping that Elias Pettersson would re-find his old form at the 4 Nations Face-Off, I have bad news.
Vancouver Canucks struggling star Elias Pettersson spoke to the media at 4 Nations today and addressed his weak play this season.
Predators Gustav Nyquist, Juuse Saros, and Filip Forsberg are all slated to feature for Sweden and Finland, respectively.
All in all, both Canucks players left the 4 Nations Face-Off with disappointing results. However, with Vancouver’s first game back from the break happening on Saturday, both players will have a chance to catch their breath before resuming play with a back-to-back against the Vegas Golden Knights and Utah Hockey Club.
