Alejandro Lopez, 21, of Downey and Orlando Cuevas, 18, of Long Beach each face felony charges after investigators with the Los Angeles County Probation Department saw Lopez allegedly hand Cuevas an electrical tape-wrapped package with the pills inside the facility on Monday, June 30, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said.

A tutor for incarcerated youth was charged with multiple felonies for allegedly working with a young adult ward to smuggle drugs into Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall in Downey.

Parademics took six staff members and one youth to local hospitals after a suspected overdose and possible drug exposure at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall.
