Grand Rapids firefighters responded to a blaze in a commercial building on the northwest side of the city on Tuesday evening. The Grand Rapids Fire Department was dispatched to the fire at 5:40 p.m.

First responders say there are crews inside the building and they're making "good progress" at battling the fire.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — An organization with a focus on building affordable housing is turning a southeast Grand Rapids building that contains a post office into a housing development.

Once complete, Kraft Avenue Properties plans to lease the building, 5824 Kraft Ave. SE, to Trane U.S. Inc., a manufacturer of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment.
