GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — An organization with a focus on building affordable housing is turning a southeast Grand Rapids building that contains a post office into a housing development.

First responders say there are crews inside the building and they're making "good progress" at battling the fire.

Once complete, Kraft Avenue Properties plans to lease the building, 5824 Kraft Ave. SE, to Trane U.S. Inc., a manufacturer of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment.
