Vistara will be merged into Air India on November 11. However, the duty rosters of cabin crew members of Air India and Vistara will continue to remain different for some time

Air India Group plans to use Vistara's newer aircraft on key metro routes to attract corporate customers after their merger. This strategy aims to provide consistent service quality against IndiGo, as Air India undertakes a $400 million refurbishment of its older fleet.

As part of the merger, 3,385 Vistara suppliers, over 3,300 crew members, 70 aircraft operating more than 320 daily flights and 86 IT contracts are to be migrated in the new carrier system

The Air India-Vistara merger is just around the corner and preparations are in full swing to ensure a seamless transition for passengers as well as staff. The airline is focusing on just one basic goa

Currently, Air India’s International Air Transport Association (IATA) code AI means that the airline’s flights are marketed as AI 123, for example. As a result, Vistara-operated itineraries will have the flight code AI 2123, for instance.

With the merger taking effect on November 12, all Vistara aircraft and flights will be transferred to and operated by Air India.

The rejig will not be limited to just the domestic network of the enlarged Air India, and would include international routes as well where currently both Air India and Vistara operate. Slots at certain international airports are also being adjusted accordingly.
