Kimbrel, who began his career in Atlanta in 2010, was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett prior to Friday's game against the Giants.

The Atlanta Braves have called up franchise career saves leader Craig Kimbrel from the minors a day after having their worst blown ninth-inning lead in more than a half-century.

Kimbrel had a successful run as the Orioles’ closer in the first half of 2024, recording 23 saves with a 2.10 ERA over his first 38 games.
