In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Kiran Rao opened up about wanting to branch out her production house, Kindling Pictures. She shared her desire to work with other producers and other studios as that will help them understand the capabilities of their own production house.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Aamir Khan was asked about his decision to quit films. Aamir revealed that when he broke the news to his ex-wife Kiran Rao, she burst out crying and said, “you are leaving us.” But Aamir explained to her that he is actually leaving films and will spend more time with his family.

When I heard the story, it really felt very personal to me because I've seen so many women who have not had the agency, the choice that I've had in my life to do as I please," Rao said at a special screening of ‘Lost Ladies'.

Laapataa Ladies features Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Ravi Kishan, and Chhaya Kadam. It was released in theatres on March 1.

On November 12, a new poster for the film was revealed, accompanied by a caption that read, "Official entry: India. Best International Feature Film - 97th Academy Awards."
