A lucky Virginia lottery player won a top prize after having dinner with his wife, lottery officials said. Jamie Howard won $100,000 from a $5 Ca$h Corners Crossword scratch-off ticket, the Virginia Lottery said in a March 14 news release.

A Mega Millions ticket worth $3 million was sold at a 7-Eleven in James City County, just outside Williamsburg.

Denise Freeman won a $500,000 top prize from a $10 Money Multiplier ticket, marking the final top prize claimed in the game, the Virginia Lottery said in a March 5 news release. “I was shocked,” Freeman told the lottery while claiming her prize. She bought her ticket at a grocery store in Alexandria, the lottery said.
