A Powerball player in Virginia fell short of the $20 million jackpot prize, but still won big, lottery officials said. John Sarwari won $50,000 in the Jan. 20 drawing and tripled it with a Power Play add on, the Virginia Lottery said in a March 14 news release.

The Powerball jackpot rose to $353 million for Wednesday’s drawing after no one won the top prize on Monday. If someone matches all six numbers, they can choose a one-time cash payment of $165.7 million. There were no lucky winners on Monday as no one won either the jackpot, $2 million or $1 million prizes.

The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday’s lottery drawing has climbed to an estimated $353 million, with a cash option of $165.7 million. The winning numbers were 11, 13, 28, 51 and 58: The Powerball drawn was 1, with a Power Play of 2X.
