According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, first responders were alerted to a multi-vehicle crash along Interstate 40 in Orange County just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.

The winter storm that dumped several inches of snow across the Midwest and mid-Atlantic is bringing some last bits of snow and freezing temperatures to Virginia, Maryland and some Northeastern states.

A dusting of snow is expected overnight in New Jersey with less than an inch anticipated in most areas as a big winter storm remains south and misses the state. Southern parts of Cape May County may see up to 2 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service. As of Wednesday morning, no formal winter weather advisories were issued.

A winter storm headed to Utah will blanket mountains with snow and bring a rain snow, to northern valley floors.
