Mike Krieger may be best known as the co-founder of Instagram, but he's now the chief product officer at Anthropic, which makes Claude, a business-focused ChatGPT competitor with an equally powerful AI model. Claude exists as a free, standalone chatbot, though Anthropic also offers paid plans for individuals and large organizations.

Anthropic has given Claude the ability to control aspects of a computer, allowing you to interact with a machine through simple text prompts.

The Amazon-backed company has released an upgraded AI model designed to use a computer like humans do. It can “look” at a screen, move a cursor, click buttons, type and open apps. According to Anthropic, the digital helper (dubbed Claude 3.5 Sonnet) can autonomously carry out tasks that require dozens, if not hundreds, of steps to complete.
