Youngkin criticizes DOJ suit against Virginia: ‘This is not a purge’
Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) criticized a Department of Justice (DOJ) suit against his state over the purging of voter rolls Sunday. “To be clear, this is not a purge,” Youngkin said on “Fox News Sunday” to anchor Shannon Bream about voter roll removals.
Trump said the DOJ is suing Virginia to allow noncitizens to vote. But that’s not the case.
The Justice Department sued both Virginia and Alabama in the fall, accusing them of violating a ban on purging voters within 90 days of an election.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin denounced the Justice Department for the decision and said the state would act to “defend these commonsense steps."
DOJ sues Virginia for allegedly purging voters too close to election
The DOJ recently filed a similar lawsuit against the state of Alabama over similar voter roll purges. The Justice Department seeks injunctive relief that "would restore the ability of impacted eligible voters to vote unimpeded on Election Day," the department said in a statement.
