A man pulled out a gun at a "Good Trouble Lives On" protest at a high-traffic west Mesa intersection after an earlier argument between demonstrators and a Trump supporter.

Demonstrators have taken to the streets across multiple states on Thursday to protest President Donald Trump’s Administration in a day of action honoring the late civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis, with more events planned across the country in the evening.

Over 200 people gathered at downtown Modesto’s Five Points intersection for a “Good Trouble Lives On” protest Thursday evening, in honor of the late congressmember and civil rights’ leader John Lewis on the anniversary of his death. Thousands of people took to the streets in a national day of action to protest the Trump administration’s policies.

Protesters gathered on the side of the road at the intersection of highway 58 and 24 for "Good Trouble Lives On" protest.

On Thursday afternoon, Shelby quietly joined the list of cities around the nation that participated in Good Trouble Lives On protests. Protests took place in Charlotte, Gastonia, Asheville and other area cities with some attracting hundreds of participants.
