When the Bay Area is supposed to cool down amid 7-day heat wave
As the San Francisco Bay Area enters the seventh day of a historic heat wave, forecasters are warning people to drink plenty of water and stay inside if possible due to persisting “dangerously hot” conditions.

Previous record highs in the city of Napa, as well in the city of Santa Rosa — both made in 1980 — were either tied or broken last week, officials said, while a third local record, set in 1930, may have been broken on Sunday.

“All of the heat warnings and advisories — they’ve all been extended,” NWS meteorologist Nicole Sarment said. “We’ve got a tiny disturbance (Friday), and the main threat from that will be an increase in winds, and there’s some degree of moisture. But this isn’t over yet.”
