A woman who survived the terrorist attack at the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023 has been chosen to represent Israel at this year’s Eurovision.

Yuval Raphael, a survivor of the Nova music festival massacre, will represent Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, in May 2025. The 24-year-old singer won the Rising Star reality singing competition on Wednesday, securing her spot on the international stage.

Israel has selected a survivor of the deadly October 7 Hamas attack to represent the nation at Eurovision this year. Yuval Raphael, who has spoken about how she hid under dead bodies inside a bomb shelter for eight hours at the Nova music festival on that fateful day,

The 24-year-old was selected after performing winning versions of ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” and Sam Smith’s “Writing’s on The Wall.”
