Two former Ocean City police officers were killed in separate shootings over the weekend, one in Virginia and another in Pennsylvania, the Ocean City Police Department said Sunday.

Officer Christopher Reese, 30, worked for the Virginia Beach Police Department for about three years when he and a second officer, Cameron Girvin, 25, were killed Friday night during a confrontation during the traffic stop, authorities said.

Reese, 30, was taken to Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, where he died a short time later surrounded by family, friends, and fellow officers, Neudigate said. Reese became a Virginia Beach officer in 2022, after having served three years as a deputy sheriff for the city.
